During the showing of the condo, you must be prepared to show a state issued driver's license. **Note - if you are under the age of 18 you will need a parent or guardian to fill out and sign the application and lease for you. If they cannot be present at the time of the showing, a copy of their driver's license must be presented at the showing along with a copy of the completed and signed application by them and you. They must be present at the time of lease signing.

Malone Condos performs a background check, such as checking prior rental history and credit history on all applicants. We do not charge an application fee.

A check made out to Linda M. Matthews in the amount of $1000 (security deposit) will be taken at the time the application is filled out. If for some reason the applicant does not pass the application process, the $1000 will be returned to the applicant. If the applicant passes the screening process, then the security deposit will be immediatly deposited into an interest bearing escrow account for the entire time the resident is living in the condo. It will be returned to the resident at move out, minus any amount needed to cover damages beyond normal wear and tear.

The application process takes no longer than 24 hours to complete. We realize that most students have limited credit, and therefore we are mainly looking to make sure they have a good rental history (if we are not going to be their first landlord), that they are not in debt to another landlord, and that they do not have a criminal history.

For Prospects:

Please fill out this St. Philip Street Application and bring it with you to your appointment. Each roommate must fill out a separate form. Also bring a $1000 deposit made out to Linda M. Matthews. We will only accept one check.

Once the application is approved and the security deposit clears the bank, an appointment will be made with you to sign and go over the lease. You will be sent an E-mail copy of the lease prior to that appointment so that you have plenty of time to read and review the lease. Expect to spend 30 to 45 minutes at the lease signing appointment as it is a very lengthy lease. All of this is done months prior to the actual move in day.
